Does DFS offer a Paperless Communication option?
Yes, we offer a Go Paperless Program for DPA and DBC accounts that will allow you to receive statements, legal notices and other account related communications electronically. Setup is immediate, free of charge, and you can view up to 12 consecutive months of statements. For more information and to enroll, visit our Go Paperless Program page. For DFS Business Lease and DFS Business Loan, the Go Paperless Program is currently not offered.
How can I set up Paperless Communications for my account?
To enroll, you must first Create an online profile on www.dellfinancialservices.com. Follow the online instructions to create your User ID and Password. You will have the option to ‘Go Paperless’ and consent to the terms and conditions for electronic communications. If you already have an existing profile on www.dellfinancialservices.com, you can consent to the terms and conditions for electronic delivery by selecting ‘Switch to Paperless Communications’ in the 'More Actions' pull down located on the Account Summary page.
Why has my DPA interest rate changed?
The interest rate on your DPA account can change based on the following factors: (1) A promotional rate on your account expires; (2) There is an increase in the Prime Rate (DPA annual percentage rates are variable and fluctuate with changes in the prime rate); (3) You enter into or complete a temporary rate reduction program, such as a hardship program; or (4) you are eligible for a rate change pursuant to the Service Members Civil Relief Act.
What fees does DFS charge?
For your DPA account, you may be charged a fee if you do not make your payment on time, you pay with a check that is returned unpaid, or if you make a same day payment by phone with the assistance of a DFS Representative. You may also be charged a fee if you request copies of your statements or require research on your account history. You will also be charged a minimum interest charge fee of $2.00 per billing cycle in every billing cycle where interest charges are billed but are otherwise less than $2.00. You may also be charged a fee if you request copies of your statements or require research on your account history. Why am I being assessed two finance charges on my statement?
You may find on occassion that you are assessed two sets of finance charges on your statement. In any month where finance charges are assessed, you will see 'Billed Finance Charges' on your statement. 'Billed Deferred Finance Charges' will appear on your statement in any month where interest earned, but not assessed, becomes due. There are two scenarios in which this can occur:
Scenario 1: Any time your account balance is $0 and you make a new purchase. In this scenario, you will not be billed finance charges on the statement on which your purchase first appears. This is because you have a grace period within which to pay the full amount owed on your account before interest is assessed. Therefore, if you pay the full statement balance on or prior to the due date, you will not be assessed any finance charges. If, however, you pay less than the statement balance, or make your payment after the due date, the interest that was accrued during the month in which your purchase was made will be assessed as 'Billed Deferred Finance Charges'.
Scenario 2: Any time a promotional purchase on your account has not been paid in full by the expiration date, you will be assessed the 'Billed Deferred Finance Charges' that accrued during the promotional period.
How do I consolidate my lease invoices?
You may contact DFS at 877-663-3355 to have your lease invoices consolidated onto a single invoice.
What is Paperless Communications?
Paperless Communications is an electronic delivery service that enables you to view certain account-related notifications online, rather than receiving them via US Mail. After you enroll in Paperless, you will receive an email notification each time you have a document ready to view.
Which accounts can enroll in Paperless Communications?
Dell Financial Services offers Paperless Communications to DPA account and DBC account customers. Paperless Communications is currently not available for DFS Business Lease and DFS Business Loan; however, paperless invoices are available for DFS Business Leases. You may contact Customer Service at 877-663-3355 for this option.
What types of Paperless Communications are available?
Consenting to receive Paperless Communications allows Dell Financial Services to send the following types of documents by electronic delivery if they are available in that form: billing statements, billing statement notices, change in terms notices, notices of increase or decrease in credit lines, privacy policies, credit bureau communications, billing dispute communications, collection notices, and additional communications about the account(s) you have specified. Please refer to our website for a list of the account-related documents that are available for electronic delivery. If you have consented to receive Paperless Communications, please continue to monitor your US mail delivery for those account-related documents that are not yet available by electronic delivery. If you have not consented to receive Paperless Communications, you will continue to receive all account-related documents by regular US mail.
Will I still receive Paper Documents when enrolled in Paperless Communications?
If you consent to receive Paperless Communications, such as billing statements, change in terms notices, and privacy policies, by electronic delivery, you will receive an email notification telling you that an account-related document is ready for viewing and instructing you to log in to your Dell Financial Services online account in order to view your Paperless Communication. You can view and print using your Web browser and/or Adobe Acrobat Reader. Paperless Communications can also be saved to your local computer files. You may request that a copy of any electronically delivered document be sent to you via US mail at no charge by contacting the Customer Service Department. If you consented to Paperless Communications, you will continue to receive a paper copy by US mail of any account-related document that is not yet available by electronic delivery. You will not receive a paper copy of any account-related document you have received by electronic delivery unless you specifically request for us to send you a paper copy of it.
Can I print my Paperless Communications?
Yes. Paperless Communications are presented in PDF format which can be easily printed or saved.
How can I go back to receiving paper documents?
If you are a DPA or DBC customer, log in to your Dell Financial Services account to switch to paper communications. Please allow for one billing cycle to reflect your request to receive paper documents. If you are a Lease customer, please contact Customer Service at 877-663-3355 to turn paper invoices back on.
Why didn't I receive my Paperless Communications notification?
Please note that we will send you e-mail notifications when your statements are ready. You will need to logon to your online account to view your statements. For the security of your account, statements will not be sent through e-mail. Please verify the e-mail address Dell Financial Services has on record is correct. To verify/update your e-mail address, login to your Dell Financial Services profile and click on "My Profile". In addition, please ensure your internet service provider (ISP) allows e-mail notifications from Dell Financial Services and does not reject them as spam.
